The AMU uses a set of complex rules and scoring system that aren’t completely easy for everyone to understand. But basically the highest score wins. The system does not necessarily indicate the fastest competitor as much as it does for the one that was accurate, fast, and followed all the rules. Here are White Feather and Tax Man’s Results.

Don’t forget that this Saturday we have the Pistol Steel Plate Match at Pleasant Grove FOP. In addition to the steel plate match we will be having a 3 Gun Practice. We plan to run a couple different style stages with walls, steel plates, sporting clays, and silhouette targets. We may also have a couple swingers in place. The swingers will be on loan form Lee Knobloch.

Lee has been kind enough to grant us use of his personal swingers. Lee is a fantastic pistol competitor and if you ever want to know something about shooting or just want to chat give him a call over at the FOP range, 205.744.2600.

Hopefully the weather will be good. We always go even in inclimate weather. It adds to practical action of the the shoot. Check the weather.

We have all heard the stories about the internet making people millions. Well, why hasn’t the shooting industry joined in?

Gun people aren’t tech savvy?

They can’t use computers?

They are are unorganized?

Maybe all of the above?

We happen to think not. Someone hasn’t come along and entered into the heavy competition for marketing over the internet. Which by our calculations is a bad thing. For instance… If you are looking for a “NHO Magwell” on Google, or Yahoo you couldn’t find one. So if somebody spent a little time and learned to market gun products on the internet it would make life easier for the shooters doing the shopping and make somebody lots of money.

There sites like bizrate.com or yahoo shopping. But what do those companies know about guns and gun accessories? Nothing. What if somebody came along and made a Amazon style website? That would revolutionize the weapon industry. Lots of people have a website but they are so poor it is hard even for advanced internet users. Maybe a single company with the capital and the right internet marketing direction will come along soon. If you get some ideas from this post give us credit for the inspiration. If it is good enough we might even promote it on our site.

As a question what do you think of the internet gun shopping business? What are your favorite sites? What type of things do you buy from them?

Though we are not marketing or selling anything as a team… We use the services of Birmingham SEO Service, to help promote shooting through search engines. We don’t pay for anything when it comes to the website. The owner of the Search Engine Optimization Service is a member of our team and provides basic design, layout, SEO, and all around technical know how for our website. So if you want to discuss ideas them about improving your online gun business contact Birmingham SEO and tell them you saw this article and receive a very willing and helpful person.

Several BGM Tactical members have been trying to custom order new rifles and have learned there is a backlog. It is nothing unusual for custom Black Guns to be on backorder for a month or 6 weeks. But, right now quotes are about 6 months. Six months isn’t so bad because it is in time for Christmas. The bad part is the rifle shooting season is over in lots of places due to the weather. Kind of disappointing but there is always next year.

Yes if you go to your local gun store there are AR-15′s on the rack. The delay is in the custom rifles, more specifically the .308 caliber. The customizations most of the members are asking for are just luxury upgrades as the standard setup is more than enough capable of rifle competition. Many of the upgrades have nothing to do with the actual function of the weapon. In fact many of the upgrades can be made on your basement work bench with a screwdriver. The customization that shouldn’t be done at home is what is taking so long.

We had a member contact DPMS directly to see if they could speed a .308 through and they said it was virtually impossible. So if you are in the market for AR15 rifle you may want to go with an off the rack rifle and have your gunsmith customize it for you.

Beware that if you want a custom rifle production is running abnormally behind schedule.

NOTE: The price of ammo has been increasing at about the same rate as fuel. So you may want to think about increasing your supply. If you know of another retailer with good prices feel free to comment and let everyone know. Able Ammo seems to have a great selection and competetive pricing.
